Deciding to try reading a book for my devotional this morning, I open to a page where I found God. Literally. God was in my book!!! He just spoke to my heart and comforted me with the words on the page that I believe to be truth...
I never fully understood why it was SO horrible for Eve to take a bite of the apple. I mean, I know why it's bad because of the aftermath...but I thought, 'If I were in her shoes, I'd want to know everything too!'
I guess that's the kind of stuff you think about when you want your life to be certain and when uncertainty starts to envelop your life. I want it mapped out for me. I want God to tell me what I'm supposed to do in this life!!!
Yet as I was reading John Ortberg's book, God is Closer Than You Think, he talks about Coach Levy from the Buffalo Bills (not sure if this is a current coach) and someone interviewed him about how he can handle the uncertainty of walking into the field and not knowing the outcome. His answer was "If you're looking for certainty, you've chosen the wrong game."
Oh.
Yea.
I suppose if I knew exactly which way to turn and what I'm going to do next....my heart and mind would be checked out. I would run on autopilot, maybe somedays wondering if I even wanted to follow this "correct and righteous" plan.
As Ortberg states, if I can live with confidence and joy even when I didn't yet know if I'd get what I'd hoped for or just didn't yet know where I'm going, a kind of strength would be formed in my soul because of having to hope and trust in the Lord!
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Oh soul, I can't wait for you to be spectacularly muscular!!!

A New Year, New Loves.
Cute decal from graefik.
Gotta love this interesting idea. It would take me forever...mm..maybe never to figure some of these equations out. What time is it GeekGear?!?!?!
Watch out! These cute bacteria will soon invade your space. Scientificculture also has various other microbes.

J.Crew
Since I've been working there, it's been draining my money.
Here are some of my picks...
This color is a little blinding, but I love the length of this sweater. Also, the button details on the shoulders is cute!
So if you have about $2,000 just laying around and you're wondering..hmm what should I get?
Here it is.

This may be my next purchase...it's so cute! It is a little low, but someone at work wore it with a tank and it was perfect! Pair it with a blazer like...
The Tweed Harriet!!

Guys...don't feel left out. Here's some cool new looks for you!
It's a lambswool cardigan..which will probably be softer than a other wools.
This sweater can be paired with this "secret-wash shirt".
This is kind of a last year's style rerun, with the military chest pockets, but in a "henley sweater" form.
Stephen: I know you like his beard, but don't get any ideas.
I love this jacket! It looks good with whatever, and it's a- "I just rolled out of bed and look this good" look.

a spark of creativity
It was one of those afternoons...few and far between, where I had a lot of time and actually wanted to create something.
Hannah, my hook up from Me & My Big Ideas, had graciously given me paper! I wanted to use it and try making something from it.
The first one was a wedding card. It started off as a general card, then some fabric here, tulle there...it was just fitting for a fall wedding.
Then came the boy card. It was difficult to make this one because I'm horrible at making "boy cards". First, because I know boys will throw them away (girls might too, but I have a better chance of them keeping it). Second, because it's so much easier to think of "prettifying" something. Not sure if it looks manly enough, but just MAYBE they won't throw this one away...
PS. Hannah do you recognize the paper? :)
